Like most website operators, Community Forge logs non-personally-identifying information of the sort that web browsers and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of each visitor request. This data is kept for technical purposes only and not stored long term.
Community Forge also collects potentially personally-identifying information like Internet Protocol (IP) addresses for logged in users and for users leaving comments. Community Forge only discloses logged in user and commenter IP addresses under the same circumstances that it uses and discloses personally-identifying information as described below.
Gathering of personally-identifying information
Community Forge will never lease, distribute or sell your personal information to third parties. Other than to its volunteers, Community Forge discloses potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information only in response to a subpoena, court order or other governmental request, or when Community Forge believes in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of Community Forge, third parties or the public at large.
Community Forge only allows trusted volunteers to access Hamlets and the potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information it contains. Some of those volunteers may be located outside of your home country; by using Community Forge's websites, you consent to the transfer of such information to them. Community Forge will not rent or sell potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information to anyone. If you are a registered user of Hamlets and have supplied your email address, you may receive emails from site administrators. Community Forge takes all measures reasonably necessary to protect against the unauthorized access, use, alteration or destruction of potentially personally-identifying and personally-identifying information.
In the unlikely event that Community Forge ceases operations, the administrators of Hamlets would be given one month in which to download and backup the site before it is deleted.
If you have agreed that Hamlets can use your information, you can change your mind easily, via one of these methods:
